10 days 9 nights from Beijing, Xian, Guilin to Shanghai
Within 10 days travelling, get to learn Chinese history in Beijing and Xi’an, enjoy picturesque natural scenery in
Guilin and Yangshuo, and feel prosperous future of China in Shanghai.
ITINERARY… Day 1: landed Beijing, the Chinese capital, a bustling city teeming with people and sounds, a
fascinating city that is quickly modernizing but keeping some aspects of its glorious past, a good city to explore
on foot, tucking into hutongs, enjoying delicacies at a night food market or visiting some of the top tourist
attractions in Beijing. This day is free for relax after a long flight. Enjoy your leisure time in such a big city.
Day
2-3:
full day exploring Beijing inclusive Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world. It remains an
astounding place and a spot to linger and see visitors from all over China. Reach the Forbidden City, a Chinese
imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty, now houses the Palace Museum. In the
afternoon, visiting the Temple of Heaven is regarded as a Taoist Temple although Chinese Heaven worship
pre-dates Taoism, a beautiful sight, a surrounded place by a vast public park popular with local residents
practicing tai chi in the mornings and on weekends. Next day, visiting the China Great Wall- Badaling section,
one of the most crowded place. The views of the Great Wall – the world’s longest outdoor museum – snaking
through the mountains are awesome. A spicy Sichuan cuisine lunch is served at a notable restaurant to recruit
your physical energy. In the afternoon, stroll across the Sacred Path and reach the Ming Tomb.
Day 4: visit the
Summer Palace, used as a summer residence by China’s imperial rulers, a retreat from the Forbidden City. The
gardens were substantially extended in 1750, reproducing the styles of various palaces and gardens from
around China. Fly to Xian, a capital of China and the start of the ancient Silk Road, to appreciate China’s long
history. Today's Xian is a world famous tourist city and an inexhaustible treasure house of cultural relics. Enjoy you
visit City Wall park, the most complete city wall to survive in the country, as well being one of the largest
ancient military defensive systems in the world.
Day 5: continue exploring another famous site: Terra Cotta
Warriors and Horses, the great archeological excavation of Qin, the grand mausoleum of the first emperor of
Qin and the warriors and horses buried in loess. In the afternoon, visit the landmark of this city- big Wild Goose
pagoda, the symbol of the old-line Xian, a well- preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists.
Day 6: in the morning, visit the Shaanxi history museum, the biggest museums in China housing the cultural
heritage of Shaanxi Province and shows the development of the Chinese civilization. Then the Great Mosque, a
major spot for religious activities, holds characteristics of Chinese pavilions with painted beams and engraved
ridgepoles. Fly to Guilin to enjoy the top landscape of China. Rest of time is free at leisure.
Day 7: highlight
cruise excursion along the Li River will take you to Yangshuo, beautiful landscape alike limestone paradise.
Upon arrival, stroll along the west street, have a short cycling trip around the village (electric car instead) and
pay a visit to a villager’s home.
Day 8: whole day highlight excursion transfers you to visit the Reed Flute cave,
a brilliant cave, a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbon-
ate deposition. Elegant mountains and clear water. On the western bank of Li River, you can also Elephant
Trunk hill, why having this name? due to its shape, a huge elephant drinking water from the river with its trunk.
Next destination is to Shanghai by flight.
Day 9: full day visit city inclusive Shanghai museum, a collection of
cultural items including ancient Chinese bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy. The Yuyuan garden, a
famous classical garden, it's name means pleasing and satisfying that was built for Pan Yunduan's parents (a
government officer of the Ming Dynasty) as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old
age. Continue visiting the Bund areas, a famous waterfront, regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds
of years, located on the west bank of Huangpu River and visiting local family.
Day 10: free time at leisure till
transfer to the airport for your departure flight to next destination.
