Sapa Weekend Markets – Can Cau & Bac Ha Market (#403)

Night 1 (Friday): Hanoi – Overnight train to Sapa (no meals)

Tonight you will take an overnight train for Hanoi to LaoCai, A/C soft sleeper 4-berth sharing cabin on a tourist train.
*Note: please get a reliable taxi from your hotel to Hanoi train station (we recommend to use Mai Linh or Group taxi, ask the driver to turn on the meter, costs abt 3-5$/transfer), about 3km from Hanoi old quarter areas to train station “Tran Quy Cap Station B” for train to Laocai

Day 1  (Saturday): Lao Cai – Can Cau Market – Bac Ha (B)

Arrive at Lao Cai Train station at early morning, have breakfast at Pine Apple restaurant. Take a transfer to Can Cau market, where 6 hill tribes are there such as: Flowery H’mong, Phu La, Black Dzao… The local H’mong wear traditional costumes that are so gaudy and heavily embroidered that the Chinese, the French and the Vietnamese have nicknamed them the “Flowery H’mong”
Back to Bac Ha and overnight at standard hotel.

Day 2 (Sunday): Bac Ha market – Lao Cai – Overnight train Hanoi (B)

Visit Bac Ha Sunday hilltribe market – Bac Ha is one of the most interesting ethnic markets in Vietnam and possibly everywhere in South East Asia: “Sunday is market day in Bac Ha, which is the occasion for the various local ethnies to gather in huge crowds to exchange the latest news, gossip, shop and eat a copious lunch”. It was visibly a festive event.

After lunch on your account, you drive downhill for about half an hour. Continue the trip to visit Royal Palace Hoang A Tuong and trek to Ban Pho village of the Flower H’Mong people, to see their house, the daily life, understand little more about their lifestyle and traditional customs. Especially, we can try homemade wine from corn. En-route back to Lao Cai, stop to see Trung Do village of the Tay people (if time permits).
Continue drive to Lao Cai station for night train to Hanoi by 4 berth compartment train.
Overnight on train

Day 3 (Monday): Hanoi Arrival, take taxi to your hotel

You will arrive early in the morning then take meter taxi to your hotel in Hanoi or transfer to airport. Kindly tell driver to turn the meter on!
Early check in, breakfast not included. Trip ends here.
