Kunming Stone Forest Tour (#2102)

Day 1: Arrival in Kunming (no meals)

Land in Kunming, capital city of the southwest China’s Yunnan province. Kunming is also known as ”the Spring City” all because
its mild climate-not cold in winter and cool in summer, the average temperature is around 18 centigrade degrees. Here can be
visited all year round. You’ll be transferred directly to the hotel.

Day 2: Kunming (B)

In the morning visit the Yuantong Temple, the oldest Buhhism temple in Kunming. Then you’ll be driven to see the Stone
Forest, a geographical phenomenon, it was a vast expanse of sea some 270 million years ago, continuous movement of tectonic
plates caused the sea to reduce and its limestone bottom to appear, the Stone Forest came into being.

Day 3: Kunming – Dali (B)

Transfer to airport and fly to Dali, the full name is Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, the 2nd largest city in Yunnan. Dali was
a historial town, it used to be the political, cultural and Buddhist center in Yunnan. Visit the Chongsheng Temple, in the Tang
Dyangsty (6th century) it was a royal temple, three pagodas in the front are very impressive, have become landmark of Dali. Rest
of the time you can walk in the old town, the guide will show you around.

Day 4: Dali – Lijiang (B)

Drive to Lijiang, on the way stop to visit a big fishing village-Xizhou, visit its square and see local people making their
traditional snack-Baba, you can try to taste some; onward travel to Shaxi old town, which used to be a trade center along the
ancient tea route, it lies in mountains but very quite, with a stream flowing by…Arrive Lijiang in late pm, visit the old town
with the local guide. Lijiang old town is built in late 13th century (the end of Song Dyanasty and the beginning of the Yuan
Dynasty), was introduced to the outside world in 1990s and in 1997 it was listed as a world cultural heritage.

Day 5: Lijiang (B)

Visit the Blude Dragon Park, from where to overlook the Jade Dragon snow mountain, local people are dancing in the park, get
this good chance to take more pictures. Rest of the time visit the Snow Mt, take a short cable car to the waist of the
mountain to walk on grasslands there at the Spruce Meadow. Finally you’ll visit Josef Rock’s former residence, which lies at
the foot of the snow mountain.

Day 6: Lijiang (B)

Visit another small old town in Shuhe, compared with Lijiang old town, Shuhe old town is smaller, not so noisy. Visit a local
Naxi family, we suggest you to have a meal there, taste the flavor of local Naxi people (discuss with the local guide, fees pay
at the spot).

Day 7: Lijiang – Kunming (B)

Fly back to Kunming (1.5 hour), visit the Guandu old town and Daounan flower market.

Day 8: Departure from Kunming (B)

Transfer to airport for home flight, end of your memorable journey in China.
