Central Highland Discovery – 5 days (#806)

Day 1: Pleiku – arrival (D)

Be welcomed at Pleiku airport (5km far away from city central), your local guide & driver pick you up then transfer to the capital of the Gia Lai Province, visit Pleiku market to explore daily life of local people.
Overnight at hotel in Pleiku.
Note: early check-in hotel is not included, standard check-in time is 14:00, check-out time is 12:00

Day 2: Pleiku – Bien Ho/ T’Nung Lake – minority village – homestay at KonkTu village (B, L, D)

Breakfast at hotel.
Leave Pleiku for Kontum (50km far away from capital). On route, short stop at Bien Ho Lake, which is a dormant volcanic crater. Its surface area is about 250 hectares with an average depth of 20 to 40 meters. A visit to Bien Ho and its surrounding mountains and pine forests is an escape from the chaos of the city. There is a watchtower affording spectacular mountain views.
Continue to explore the minority village of Pleiwer and the exploration of the Jarai’s culture especially the wooden statues of the graveyard (the cemeteries of the Jarai), leaving –the – tomb, watering spring place where people get water or freshen up. Lunch at local restaurant in KonTum.
Then continue your visiting day to Wooden Church, Vinh Son Ophanage (Bahnar Orphanage, is just behind the church) and Thua Sai Seminary. Drive to Konktu village for learning and discovering Bahnar ethnic minority’ s culture.
Dinner & overnight homestay at KonkTu village. Enjoy the traditional Gong music and dancing show with “Can” wine and “Lam” rice.
(Homestays condition : Mattresses, mosquitonets, blankets, pillows, warm water and separate toilet ).

Day 03: Kontum – Buon Ma Thuot (B, L)

Breakfast at homestay.
Hike along to Dakbla river for sightseeing (4km). Take a dugout – canoe to contemplate the nature scenery on Dakbla river to go back Kontum. Lunch at local restaurant in KonTum.
Leave KonTum for Buon Ma Thuot city. En route, visiting the coffee, pepper and rubber plantations. Arrive Buon Ma Thuot city.
Overnight at the hotel in Buon Ma Thuot.

Day 04: Buon Ma Thuot – waterfalls Draysap, Draynur – Buon Don village – departure (B, L)

Breakfast at your hotel.
Drive to the south of Buon Me Thuot, Dak Nong district for visiting waterfalls. Dray Sap is the star attraction, where a collection of rivers and streams cascade over the cliff. The main river is fairly massive, if a little brown, and the surrounding streams and backwaters aren’t so tempting for swimming.
Along the path, there’s a suspension bridge that leads over to the sister falls, Dray Nur, which are dwarfed in comparison.
Note: all of these waterfalls are much less impressive in the dry season, the end of the rainy season is the best time to go for pretty pictures.
Continue driving to Buon Don, a famous place of elephant hunting and taming in the ancient period.
Lunch at local restaurant in Buon Don.
Across the suspension bridge (250m) through the Srepok river, the ancient house over 120 years-old of the Laotian and the grave of the elephant hunting King Khunjunop.
Take an hour elephant ride (if time permits).
Directly transfer to the Buon Ma Thuot aiport for your departure flight.
