In the morning: Saigon – Tan Cang pier – Cu Chi tunnels
Les Rives guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel and after a short ride by comfortable minivan you will find yourself at Tan Cang Pier, where the adventure begins.
7:30am: You will board a modern and spacious speedboat and depart to the Cu Chi tunnels. When on board, enjoy a light breakfast of a Vietnamese sandwich Banh Mi with coffee or tea, while learning about a traditional way of life of the locals on the river and its banks, you will arrive to the Cu Chi Tunnels before the larger bus groups.
9:00am: Explore the Cu Chi site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.
Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river, consisting of authentic fried spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes and soup round 11.00am.
11.30am: Depart Cu Chi and return to Ho Chi Minh City.
In the afternoon: Tan Cang pier – bike/or motobike to Little Mekong Delta
Arrive to the city pier about 1.00pm, and enjoy a welcome drink while being instructed about the coming itinerary before exploring the Little Mekong Delta area.
1:30 pm: Choose either bicycle or a motorbike to ride 4 kilometers through the countryside, about 30 minutes ride
Together with a local farmer, visit the fields and an altar to the lost souls, it takes in one hour
After a walk, you will visit the farmer’s house to have some rest and enjoy a fresh coconut.
3:30 pm: You will ride 3 more kilometers in the countryside and your motorbike driver will bring you back to the hotel
4:30 pm: Drop off at the hotel.

You will visit in one day two most popular places of interest near Ho Chi Minh City: a historical site of Cu Chi Tunnels and a unique Cao Dai Temple that represents the world’s youngest and perhaps the most mysterious religion. Travel comfortably to observe the life on Saigon River and its banks, while enjoying a light breakfast. Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, a small sample of the immense network of tunnels during the US-Vietnam conflict.
Your guide will lead you through the historic Cu Chi Tunnels, dug by resourceful guerrilla fighters to provide communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters during numerous conflicts.
Get on the minivan and head to Tay Ninh Province to visit the famous Cao Dai Holy See Temple, which is a fusion of Buddhism, Taoism, Catholicism and a few other religions. Learn about the unique religion and the temple organization, and watch the noon mass.
After having a traditional lunch, you will be brought by van back to the hotel.
Early in the morning, your Les River guide will meet you at your hotel’s lobby and bring you by car in 15 minutes to your boat at Tan Cang pier.
Get on the boat, within 15 minutes, the banks of the river change from city sprawl to lush jungle. A light breakfast of sandwiches or pastries, fresh tropical fruits and Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca phe sua da) is served, as your guide explains rural traditions and aspects of riverbank life.
8:50 am: You will arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site before the majority of larger bus tours arrive. Watch a brief introductory ‘propaganda’ video to the Cu Chi area.
Explore the Cu Chi site within 2 hours from 9.00 am, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.
11:00 am: Depart for Cao Dai Holy See Temple, a mixture of a few different religions, located in Tay Ninh province.
Walk around the temple in one hour to see its marvelous and mysterious architecture and watch the noon mass.
1:15 pm: You will have lunch at a local restaurant for a delicious Vietnamese cuisine.
After 1.5 hour for lunch time, we depart for Ho Chi Minh City
4:30 pm: Arrive back to Saigon to be dropped off at your place of stay.

Enjoy a scenic river boat trip to discover the tangled maze of rivers and vast paddies found in the Mekong Delta on our culture-centric tours. Departing by boat from Ho Chi Minh City ( also known as Saigon), you will explore areas of the Mekong Delta that few other tourists get to experience.
You’ll experience the old-world river life of the Mekong Delta, and enjoy a lesser-seen glimpse into rural Vietnam as it trundles along a slow tempo, as it has done for centuries. Visiting a Cao Dai temple/Buddhist pagoda, river market and so much more. Bursting with charming local color and scenic views.
Travel by modern speedboat and enjoy countless photo opportunities of the idyllic scenery and local people as you cruise past buffaloes plowing fields, fruit orchards and rice paddies during our Mekong Delta tour. Our tour provides close-up looks at small-village life along the river particularly during your time spent at a local family’s homestead, where you’ll be invited to enjoy fresh coconuts and fiery Mekong Delta whisky.
You will have a traditional Mekong Delta lunch including fried elephant ear fish, a delicious specialty of the region, at a local house!

The boat departs and you slip away from downtown Saigon via narrow canals, and enter the verdant green tributaries of the Mekong Delta, during 15 minutes driving, a light breakfast is served on board. Enjoy a brief stop at the ornate, overwater Tuong Van Pagoda, while your guide explains the importance Buddhism to many people of the Delta.
9:30am – Visit a bustling, colorful riverside market full of local curiosities, tropical fruits and all manner of fish and shellfish. Great photo opportunities! It takes 1 hour
After that, you reach the idyllic watery expanses of the Delta itself, known as the Delta of Nine Dragons for the 9 tributaries that splinter from the main Mekong River.
10:45am – Turn off the delta into small, winding canals of the Thu Thua area, shaded by a canopy of foliage as you drift along lazily.
Depending on the route, you will visit a traditional riverside house with huge Burmese pythons as pets, a quaint Mekong village and surrounding rice paddies, and then a traditional farmhouse where you’ll sample coconuts and Mekong whisky.
Or you will visit a local merchant and try a range of Mekong produce, and whisky and wine. You’ll walk along the banks of the river to a traditional rural Vietnamese house where 3 generations live, before exploring a charming village where you can try fresh coconuts from the tree. This variation provides fascinating insight into life in the Mekong Delta region.

Enjoy a traditional Mekong Delta lunch at a local house about 12:30 pm, after lunch time, you will visit an orphanage run by Buddhist monks.

Itinerary:
Day 1: HCMC – Saigon River pier – Mekong Delta (Lunch, Dinner)
Les River meets you in the lobby of your hotel and drive 15 minutes you by car to the Saigon river/Tan Cang pier
The boat departs and you slip away from downtown Saigon via narrow canals, and enter the verdant green tributaries of the Mekong Delta, during 45 minutes on the river, a light breakfast is served on board.
9:00am: Visit Can Giuoc riverside market full of local curiosities, tropical fruits and all manner of fish and shellfish. Great photo opportunities! It takes 1 hour visit. Next, a brief stop at the pagoda, while your guide explains the importance of Buddhism to many people of the Delta.

Enjoy a traditional Mekong Delta lunch at the local restaurant at 12:30pm
We continue the visit at 2.00pm to see a fish farm, know how the fish is raised in the Mekong Delta.
2:30pm: Arrive to the boutique hotel The Island Lodge. Relax by the river, chill at the pool or take a bike ride on the peaceful alleys of the Unicorn Island full of shady fruit trees.
In the evening have a delicious dinner specially cooked for you by a French chef.
Day 2: Mekong Delta (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Have breakfast at the hotel at 7:30am, and depart The Island Lodge to continue exploring the Delta.
We visit Cai Be floating market to see how locals run their trading business on the river, about 1 hour
9:30am: Enjoy a rowboat trip along small canals of the Delta surrounded by thousands of coconut palms.
After one hour, we next visit a brick atelier to see how locals still use traditional technologies to make bricks.
12:00am: Stop at a riverside restaurant to have a delicious Vietnamese lunch.
We have 1.5 hour for lunch & rest, then we take a ride on “xe loi”, a traditional transport used on the villages of the Mekong Delta. Visit rice noodle, roof and nail nippers workshops.
3:30pm: Return to the speedboat and depart for Ho Chi Minh City.
You will back to Saigon about 5.30 and transfer by car in 15 minutes to your hotel in the city center.
