Night 1 (SAT): Hanoi – Overnight train to Lao Cai (no meals)

Tonight you will take an overnight train for Hanoi to Lao Cai, A/C soft sleeper 4-berth sharing cabin on a tourist train.

*Note: please get a reliable taxi from your hotel to Hanoi train station (we recommend to use Mai Linh or Group taxi, ask the driver to turn on the meter, costs abt 3-5$/transfer), about 3km from Hanoi old quarter areas to train station “Tran Quy Cap Station B” for train to Lao Cai.

Day 1 (SUN): Lao Cai station – Muong Hum Market – Sapa (B)

Early morning: arrive at Lao Cai Train station, have breakfast at local restaurant then we drive to Muong  Hum (45km distance from Lao Cai town)

The road to Muong Hum will via some of the most spectacular mountain sceneries of Vietnam.  The route takes you through the Red Dao Village of Ban Khoang and the Hmong village of Ta Giang Phin. The forest passes are lined with elfin forest, steep sided karst outcrops and mountains.

Arriving in Muong Hum, there will be plenty of time to wander around and take in the hustle and bustle.  We can try a variety of local food specialties before be back to Sapa or station.

There will be options for some trekking (distances and difficulties can be arranged to suit your wishes).

Trip ends at your hotel in Sapa or Lao Cai station for your night train to Hanoi.
