Sapa Homestay Trip 4 nights 3 days (#401b)

Night 1: Hanoi – Overnight train to Sapa (no meals)

Tonight you will take an overnight train for Hanoi to Lao Cai, A/C soft sleeper 4-berth sharing cabin on a tourist train.
*Note: please get a reliable taxi from your hotel to Hanoi train station (we recommend to use Mai Linh or Group taxi, ask the driver to turn on the meter, costs abt 3-5$/transfer), about 3km from Hanoi old quarter areas to train station “Tran Quy Cap Station B” for train to Lao Cai

Day 1: Lao Cai station – Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van village (B/L/ D)

Arrive at Lao Cai Train station early morning – take a transfer by private car to Sapa.
Having breakfast at local restaurant and relax before explore Sapa Town. At an elevation of 1600 meters, Sapa is a delightful old French hill station situated in the mountainous region of Vietnam’s’ northwest, close to the Chinese border. The region is home to many ethnic minorities groups all wearing their traditional and colorful attire.

A short drive to Y Linh Ho then trek through the rice terraces and along Muong Hoa Stream to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai to see the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien Son Mountain. You approach Ta Van village where Dzay ethnic people inhabits. Trekking distance is about 9 kms and it lasts for 3.5 hours.
Check in homestay; get to know the family of Dzay people. Spend time to enjoy the mountain life on sunset. You may attend cooking local dishes with the family and enjoy dinner in peace.
In the evening, you can join the local bar nearby with music and socialize with other tourists then overnight at homestay.

*Note about mountain road condition: with uphill and downhill, the hiking time can be flexible as per your wish: the accurate weather condition, slippery path, your health … that you can combine with car transfer and hiking, do feel free to discuss with your local guide for a smooth trip.

Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai village – Sapa – Cat Cat village (B/L/D)

Having breakfast with family and start a new day with more interesting trek.
Keep walking to the rice paddies where you have a nice photo session of the amazing surrounding landscapes; a trek through the bamboo forest; stop to have a panorama view of Giang Ta Chai village – home of red Dzao People.
Trek through the Giang Ta Chai Bridge to main road, bus picks you up to come back Sapa Town.
Trekking distance is about 4 km and it lasts for 2 hours.
Time for lunch with Vietnamese dishes at local restaurant and check in hotel.
A short drive to the gate of Cat Cat village which is home of Black H’mong ethnic people and is located near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak. Our local guide will show you the daily life activities of the locals, trek down to the valley bottom to the waterfall where the French built a Hydraulic Power Station, stop for photo capture with bridge and waterfall then you will walk uphill for picking up back to Sapa in the afternoon.
16.30: Come back to Sapa Town. Have dinner and overnight in hotel

Day 3: Sapa – Ta Phin village – Love Waterfall – Tram Ton pass – Lao Cai station – overnight train back Ha Noi (B, L)

After breakfast check-out and get ready for the trip.
Drive to the direction of Ta Phin village (abt 40 minutes) – home to the Red Dzao people. Here you have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families of Black Hmong and Red Dzao that live in the area. This will be about a 2 hour hiking experience.
The trip also offers you the opportunity to visit the local houses as well as visit the local caves. We continue to visit Tram Ton Pass at 1.940m & Love Waterfall before transferring back to Sapa. Directly drive to Lao Cai station for night train to Hanoi. Soft-sleeper, wooden 4-berth sharing cabin on tourist carriage train.
