Night 1 (Friday)
Night tourist train Hanoi – Lao Cai (no meals)

Tonight you will take an overnight train for Hanoi to LaoCai, A/C soft sleeper 4-berth sharing cabin on a tourist train.
*Note: please get a reliable taxi from your hotel to Hanoi train station (we recommend to use Mai Linh or Group taxi, ask the driver to turn on the meter, costs abt 3-5$/transfer), about 3km from Hanoi old quarter areas to train station “Tran Quy Cap Station B” for train to Lao Cai

Day 1 (Saturday): Lao Cai station – Can Cau Saturday Market – Bac Ha (B/L/D)

Arrive in early morning at Lao Cai station.
Be welcomed from our local guide, transfer to Can Cau market. On the way, enjoy your breakfast at local restaurant. It takes more than 2 hours to get to Can Cau – a small market situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and only 7 km from China. The market deeply shows the typical cultural features of the minorities in remote mountainous areas in Vietnam.

Furthermore, you can enjoy seeing boys and girls in colorful costumes – different colors of the mountains. They attend the market in the hope of finding “the other halves of their lives” and this is also the time for them to chat, to exchange everything among different ethnic peoples through cups of wine sold in the market. Say goodbye to the market and drive via Bac Ha. On the way, spend time visiting a village of the Flower H’mong.

Day 2 (Sunday): Bac Ha Sunday Market –  Sapa (B/L)

7.00 am: Visit Bac Ha market (on Sunday morning only), a real attraction in this hinterland. The market visiting is followed by a short trek (6km) around Ban Pho village inhabited by the flower H’Mong, to which magnificent views is worth being given. Lunch at local restaurant.
PM: we will continue to drive to Sapa. En-route, stop to see Trung Do village of the Tay people, then come back to Sapa.

Day 3 (Monday): Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Homestay (B/L/D)

Breakfast at your hotel.
12 km of trekking, visit Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai villages of the H’mong minority. After lunch at a local family in Lao Chai or in a drinking shop nearby the river bank, we keep on hiking to Ta Van village of the Dzay where we stay overnight in a local family. Here you have opportunity to experience their daily life, work and original custom.
With your tour guide and the house owners, we will set up a temporary cooking class to learn how to cook Vietnamese food for dinner.

Dinner and home-stay at the Dzay family

Day 4 (Tuesday): Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Love Waterfall – Tram Ton Pass – Lao Cai station (B/L)

In the morning, we have breakfast with local host and begin a trek through rice paddies and bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai Village of Red Dzao people – another different tribal group. After visiting this village, we get back to a local house nearby the waterfall, again we prepare lunch here.
In the afternoon, drive up hill to see the famous Love Waterfall and then onto Tram Ton, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam at 1,800 m above sea level for enjoying the magnificence of Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range as well as over viewing spectacular landscapes of the whole area, stretching endlessly before transferring to Lao Cai station for a night train back Hanoi, A/C Soft Sleeper 4 berth sharing compartment.

You will arrive Hanoi station the next morning, own arrangement taxi to your hotel (ends)
